Received an eMail from a immanent 2907.50.91 owner yesterday, followed by further truly enjoyable further dialogue between the two of us which is excerpted for readers of this Blog.

Serial No: 81776539 Limited Series No: 3644/5007.

Purchased in New Delhi and will be brought into Bangalore, when I will be able to take some pictures. Can't wait :-)

This is my third Omega and the second one that I have bought. The first one was a Seamaster calibre 562 (1956?) that belonged to my grand father. It was discovered long after he passed away and the watch was lying dead. The AD wanted to replace the balance wheel and the spring. Told him to hand it over. I opened and serviced it and it is now running perfectly - about -10 to 15 seconds a day. Need to tweak it a little more. Looks like it can do better, since it is very accurate.

The second one was the James Bond (not limited edition) 212.30.41.20.01.002.

And now this.

A friend of mine in Delhi wanted to sell this. He had had this for a little less than two years during which he wore it less than a dozen times. The black rubber strap does not have the tell-tale bend of having been worn much. He wants to move to a Rolex and I was very happy to help him on his way :-) It has no marks, no scratches nothing. Even the AR coating outside is perfect. Can be called perfect - AND it is not for sale :-) The only thing missing is the box - pity. Wondering if Omega will sell me a replacement box.

Before the Omegas my top end was the T-Touch Expert. One of about 20 watches that I have....

Just after 7 o'clock last night (Pacific Daylight Time), an eBay action ended with the sale of watch number 2479.

The final selling price was $1,771.00 after 26 Bids. The Seller is located in Dallas, Georgia [United States].

Condition of the piece was indicated as "New," and included photographs of cards, packaging, and paperwork. Serial number 81764310 is clearly visible on the Chronometer Certificate for this Ref: 29075091.

On March 25, 2008, James Bond Lifestyle put Limited Number 4766 up for exclusive auction on its website.

The starting bid (reserve) was set at 3,275 Euros, which the site currently shows as a US $4,609.00 exchange amount. The auction ended on April 23, 2008, at 3:00pm, without a sale.

This watch is currently in Zürich, Switzerland, as part of its original owner's collection.

Even whilst relaxing on the beach, only the best is good enough for James Bond, an ethos perfectly reflected in his choice of diving partner. The Seamaster Planet Ocean 'Casino Royale' is a potent combination of technical complexity and aesthetic elegance. The Planet Ocean model is identified by its distinctive bezel, which recalls the original Seamaster 300 metre models albeit with a choice between classic and highly contemporary interpretations of this historical theme. Meticulous attention to detail resulted in a slightly different bezel design with a model taking on a resolutely sporty look. The unidirectional rotating bezel has minute graduations for the first fifteen minutes, numbers for the subsequent ten-minute sectors and a luminous triangular marker at 12 o’clock. Other features indicating that this is a professional divers’ watch are the watertight screw-in crown, a screw-in case back and the helium escape valve (located at 10 o’clock and embossed with 'He'). The Seamaster Planet Ocean is water resistant to 600 metres (2000 feet).

The matt black dial also offers excellent clarity, thanks to applied luminous hour markers and Arabic numerals at 12, 6 and 9 o’clock, with date window at 3 o’clock. The facetted arrowhead hour and minute hands also have luminous SuperLuminova inserts, and a luminous arrowhead seconds hand with orange tip offers ultimate visibility down to the last second. This Limited Edition has exclusive features: the central second hand bears the '007' gun logo in orange, that recalls the code name of the famous MI6 secret agent. The stainless-steel case back is embossed with the 'Casino Royale' logo as well as the series number of each Limited Edition watch.

This one is my personal "Casino Royale" 29075091 Limited. So I have a lot to share about it here.

Number 1113 was purchased in Ann Arbor, Michigan [United States], on November 17, 2006.

The Authorized Dealer through which I acquired it provided me with Appraisal documentation listing US $3,650.00 as its value. Omega Serial Number 81732277 is clearly cut into the 7 o'clock lug and matches all documentation.

When I then previewed my idea for a Registry (oh, my: Almost three years ago now!), here's what he wrote on November 21, 2006.

He was one of the lucky and early few to purchase the Omega reference 2907.50.91 Seamaster Planet Ocean BIG SIZE "Casino Royale" Limited.

Despite having model information and LINKs to exclusive information on my website, his initial inquiries to Authorized Dealers in the United Kingdom were met with frustration. [link]

As I wrote here yesterday, there was a second Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean reference 2907.50.91 "Casino Royale" Limited available from the same Authorized Dealer in Livonia, Michigan (US), on December 10, 2006.

How often do you see these wonderful pieces side-by-side?

I dunno about today, but think about it: This was approximately two months after the premier of Casino Royale with the introduction of Daniel Craig as James Bond, 007. Omega SA had only Posted images and official information on this watch model on November 2, 2006.

And on December 9, 2006, Omega SA announced to its Authorized Dealers that the 2907.50.91 was no longer available for special order. It was, in effect, "sold out" as far as they were concerned.

So it was pretty neat to see two examples of "the" hot James Bond watch so early on!
